Really??
Dude gets dared by his friends to try ketamine for the first time and is brought by them sinking in the k-hole. I ask the friends what he took and they look at me most solemnly and seriously and tell me he must have had a bad cup of coffee several hours prior to his arrival. Really? F%$k you! At least save what little dignity you have and tell me the truth! I kicked them out after that because I was feeling annoyed and chocolate deprived.

I had to look up what ketamine even was. So many things that are dangerous and horrible out there. I agree with you that at least the friends could've been honest.
Hello! I just wanted to say I have been following your blog for a couple months now and absolutely LOVE it. I even love (and agree) with the title! I am a student nurse graduating in two weeks and am going to start working this summer. So this blog I feel I can especially relate to! I have taken it upon myself to begin reading every one of your entries, because I find them so funny, true and always are a good story. I thought I had seen everything until I triaged a kid on Molly's Plant food. Unreal.
Some friends. Hope he finds some better ones when he's feeling a bit less freaky. Knowing what he took and how much could be important, more important than them not admitting (even to someone who isn't a cop and won't act like one) what they gave him.

Wait, the kids are using Ket? Yuck. I feel bad for the patients who get it...it's recreational to them? ewwww
I feel like chocolate deprivation is a completely legitimate reason to kick an annoying person out of the ED. I mean, if they stayed there, they'd probably get a real reason to be there sooner than they'd like =P

As a male nursing student, I find it helpful to know I need to keep chocolate handy in the event of an emergency situation. Thanks for the heads -up.
Too funny! One year not so long ago a male pt was transported in from Burning Man (Reno is the closest real ER). He was unresponsive and the paramedics suggested that it was secondary to an combination of MDMA and alcohol.
I said, "it never did that to me!" and the other nurse working with me (who was probably pushing 70) said, "me neither!".
